Joe and his wife Marie have been married for over 48 years. They have 3 daughters and 9 grandchildren. Before getting involved with the church as a business manager in 2004, they owned and operated a business in healthcare for 38 years. Joe and Marie live in South Weymouth. Joe earned a BS degree in Education from Boston State/UMASS Boston in 1969, and was honorably discharged from the USAR in 1976.
